Ann Coulter....Nazi Whore?

Does that seem like a “fair and balanced” statement to you? Me neither. It is neither but.... it is what it is. Who is this lady? Why does she have a platfom at all on hate TV much less on the national stage of the Concervative Political Action Committee, being filmed by C-Span. On March 2nd speaking before the Conservative Political Action Conference she said, among other things:

“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”

Now I have seen this lady spewing hate on Fox News and CNN for a while and I always switch immediately. Although the spectacle of a good looking, rich blond, ivy league lawyer taking the side of the “regular joe” she always seemed like she should be on Larry the Cable Guy or the Rednecks Comedy Tour then be seen as a substantive news commentator. Better ignored then watched and reviled. Just because your mean and full of hate and rage does not make you a “source” of insight. Here are few recent gems from her mouth and a lot of them make the Edwards comments look restrained and rational.

Wow. I had no idea. I hesitated to give her even this play. At this point I am embarrassed to have been born in the same year as her. Everyone has the occasional selfish, self involved, bigotted and hateful thought. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have more of my share. The big difference is that we try and control them rather then promulgating hatres and bigotry for money. I know I hate Fox News but is there ever a better argument against “Fair and Balanced” then giving a platform to this crazy bitch? To be fair CNN has had her on all their hate/talk shows as well and deserves a fair amount of the blame. MSNBC at least canned her after her vietnam vet comments which according to Wikipedia are misquoted above. According to Wikipedia when confronted by a vet who had pointed out the innaccuracy of her reporting she siad “Now I know why you guys lost.” I gets that is better?
I would guess that this lady was really saddened by the end of the cold war and that we were losing so many really quality totalitarian states. I would think that she would be all for the premise of funamentalist Islam and the frenzied nationalism that it promulogates. She is allegedly a Christian and syas she attends a Presbyterian Church but when did Jesus start to stand for hate? Several sources state she has carried on a long relationship with porn heir Bob Guccione Jr... so I do not know where she comes down on “family values”.

This is a woman who we have a duty as a society to ostracize and ignore. If we cannot find a way to do that then we should be focused on making sure she gets her tubes tied. Is that harsh? Lets get her off the air. Write a letter, make a phone call, send an email. If you cannot tell...this really bothered me.
